Planned in two separate phases, the Hyderabad Metro is a rapid transit serving the city of Hyderabad, Telangana. Currently, focused on Phase 1 of the plans, it is scheduled to begin operations in 2016. Various different routes, have different opening dates but as a whole Phase 1 is scheduled to have 3 lines. Stage 2, operating between Miyapur and S R Nagar is going to be the first route under operation. The 3 lines are going to serve 64 stations in total. Phase 2 is planned to stretch even longer than Phase 1, measuring approximately 97 km in track length. Phase 1 on the other hand, is relatively shorter spanning over 70 km in length.
