
The Birla Mandir in Delhi is also known as the Lakshmi Narayan Temple and is one of the main tourist sites in Delhi. The temple is a tribute to the Hindu god Narayana and goddess Laxmi. An example of modern Indian architecture combined with traditional temple design.
Built by the Birla family in 1939, it is renowned for its beautiful carvings, extensive use of white marble and tranquil gardens. It’s also notable for being inaugurated by Mahatma Gandhi, who emphasised that the temple should be open to people of all castes and religions.
