London Tube Station Near Natural History Museum

The Natural History Museum was founded in 1881 and contains a wide variety of natural history specimens. There are around 80 million objects, which can be divided into 5 branches of biology: botany, entomology, mineralogy, planetology and zoology. It was known as the British Museum until 1992. The most recent addition to this museum is a valuable collection storage centre known as the Darwin Centre. Located in central London, it is open to visitors from 10:00 am to 5:30 pm. The nearest London Underground station to the Natural History Museum is South Kensington. The Museum is approximately 300 metres from the station and can be reached on foot in 5 minutes or by taxi in 3 minutes via Cromwell Road. There is also a bus service from the station, the 345 bus takes 2 minutes to the museum gate via Cromwell Road.

South Kensington tube station is served by the Central, District and Piccadilly lines. It is located between Glouster Road and Sloane Square tube stations on the Central and District lines. On the Piccadilly line it is also accessible from Knightsbridge tube station. The station is also accessible by bus. It falls under London zone 1.
