Dubai International Airport is the world’s busiest airport in terms of international passenger traffic. It serves Dubai and the UAE. According to statistics, the airport handled 70.4 million passengers and 2.37 million tonnes of cargo in 2014. Operated by Dubai Airports Company, it is located in the Al Gargaud district, 4.6 km from Dubai. The airport has 4 terminals. There are three passenger terminals, Terminals 1 and 3 are connected to the transit area. There is a shuttle service for transit passengers which takes 20 minutes from Terminal 2 to Terminal 1 and 30 minutes to Terminal 3. Approximately 80 million passengers pass through these three terminals each year.
Terminal 1:
Concourse C has 50 gates, including 28 air bridges and 22 remote gates located on a lower level of the terminal, they are labelled from C1-C50.It will also be part of Terminal 3 in 2015.
Concourse D will open in the second quarter of 2015.
Terminal 2:
Built in 1998, it is the hub for Air India Express and Flydubai. The head office of these airlines is also located in this terminal.
Terminal 3:
Concourse A has a capacity of 19 million passengers and is connected to two levels of the terminal. There are many duty free areas, a 5 star hotel and a 4 star hotel.
Concourse B is used exclusively by Emirates. There is a 120,000 square metre duty free area and 18 restaurants.

The nearest Dubai Metro station to Airport Terminal 1 is GGICO Metro Station on the Red Line. This station provides convenient access to Terminal 1 of Dubai International Airport and is just a short distance away.
