Sendai Subway Information
This is a metro system that has survived even after facing the perils thrown by nature along its way. Left damaged by an earthquake and tsunami, the metro remained shut for a while and was repaired not long after the occurrence of the natural calamities. It began serving the people of Sendai, Japan, in the year 1987. It is a relatively small metro network measuring 27.8 km in length. The Sendai City Transportation Bureau is responsible for the entire network, which consists of 2 lines and serves 30 stations in total.

Sendai Subway Fares, Tickets and Cards
There are many different types of tickets available for the passengers of the Sendai Subway. A one day ticket allows for unlimited travel on the subway for an entire day and costs 840 yen for adults and 420 yen for children. On weekends, the prices are slightly subsidized. There is another ticket that is known as the Loop Ru Sendai subway common one ticket. This ticket allows for unlimited travel for an entire day on both busses as well as the subway. It costs 900 yen for an adult and 450 yen for a child. Group tickets are available for students and common organizations. They are entitled to a 20% and 10% discount on the regular tariff respectively. However, the group must consist of more than 25 people.
Passengers can also choose to purchase a Skip Card for either 1000 yen, 3000 yen or 5000 yen. The card allows its owner unlimited travel on both busses and the subway as well. It comes to about 40 yen cheaper, per ride. Similarly, there is another card known as the Joy Card, which is also available. The pricing is the same except that there is no option for a card for 1000 yen, only 3000 yen and 5000 yen worth cards are available
The ticket on the subway is set at a uniform price of 200 yen, to get off at any of the stations.

Sendai Subway Parking
The Sendai Subway offers park and ride facilities in some select stations, 4 to be precise. The Izumi Chuo District, Yagiyama animal park station, Arai station and Nagamachiminami District are the names of the 4 stations that offer the facility.

Sendai Subway Services
It must be said that the Sendai Subway network definitely offers a lot of useful services for its passengers. ATM and escalators cover the basic services. In addition, there is also Wi-fi service that is provided. For those who use the metro often, coin lockers are available as well. The metro network is equipped for all kinds of emergencies, from an earthquake to a situation when a defibrillator might come in handy. Oh! And even a fire.
Sendai Subway Rules and Tips
The management aims at maintaining order in the stations. In order to achieve this goal of theirs, they encourage boarding passengers to wait until the passengers from the train get down. Running and pushing is not encouraged either. The passengers are requested to refrain from talking on the mobile phone, eating and drinking while riding the metro. The subway is well equipped, with elevators and escalators to provide assistance to the disabled people especially. Smoking is prohibited within the network.
