Jaipur Metro Information

On the way to becoming the sixth metro system to be in operations in India, the Jaipur Metro set some truly noteworthy milestones. The construction period lasted just 4 years and the metro began operations on the 3rd of June 2015. Not only is it considered to be one of the fastest metro networks built in India but it is also the first metro to run on a double-storeyed elevated road. Owned and operated by the Jaipur Metro Rail Corporation (JMRC), it currently has just 1 line in operation, serving 9 stations. This comparatively small metro that’s about 9 km long, has great expansion plans. If things go according to plan, the metro will stretch over 30 km, along 2 lines, serving 31 stations in total.

Jaipur Metro Timings, Frequency and Timetable

The metro begins operations close to 06:30 am in the morning and runs till around 22:00 pm in the night, on all seven days of the week. The headway of the trains however, differ with the routes as well as the timings. Generally, there is a time interval of 15 minutes between each train. But from 17:00 pm in the evening, till about 21:30 pm in the night, the headway reduces to approximately 10 minutes.

Jaipur Metro Fares, Tickets and Cards

 

The fares of Jaipur Metro vary between Rs. 5 and Rs. 15 (during Off-peak hours). Refer to the official fare chart below to get fares between different stations of Jaipur Metro.

Jaipur Metro Parking

Parking facilities are available from 06:00-22:00. However, it is not free and there is a parking fee applicable. The fee varies depending on the mode of transport (bicycle, scooter, car etc) and the time period for which it is used. For a car it costs 15 Rs to park upto 8 hours. Cycles and scooters have to pay much lesser, costing 2 Rs for a cycle and 5 Rs for a scooter, upto 8 hours again.

Passengers have the option to purchase a parking ticket for 8 hours, 8-16 hours, 16-24 hours and monthly passes as well.
