The Al Mashaaer Al Mugaddassah Metro is a rapid transport system which is a part of the Mecca metro system. Opened on November 13, 2010, the Al Mashaaer Al Mugaddassah Metro operates for only 7 days in a year, during the period of Hajj. Constructed to reduce the congestion faced during the period of Hajj, it connects the holy cities of Mecca, Arafat, Muzdalifah, and Mina. This 18.1-kilometer long line, covering 9 stations is one of the busiest metro systems in the world. It has one metro line which is operated by the Prasarana.
